Undoing Racism Workshop This workshop is one of the five in which the students in I'm Not Racist...Am I? take part during the documentary. The plan is to bring this workshop, offered by The People's Institute for Survival and Beyond, to Charlottesville students and teachers. The vision is to gather 35-40 students from different area high schools (who’ve already seen INRAI) to participate in a day-long workshop, a format that models the 12 students in the documentary. This workshop experience could serve as a catalyst for the creation of intercity “Summits on Race,” self-organized by local high schoolers. Date yet to be determined. Workshop for Local Leaders A day-long workshop designed for local leaders who are ready to think about issues of racism within their institutions and seek concrete steps towards addressing them. Acquire valuable assessment tools (how are we really doing?), reflect on an institutional/historical analysis (why are things the way they are?), and gain exposure to new insights and organizational models, as well as learn some strategies for change. Attend with three of your co-workers and come away with a concrete plan you can implement, knowing that you'll have resources and a community of peer support going forward. Date yet to be determined.
